Judy Brownlie is an active member of a number of arts organizations including being a Signatory Member Victorian Artists Society, Australian Guild Realist Artists (Melbourne), Sherbrooke Art Society, Royal Art Society NSW, Macquarie Towns Art Society, National Association for the Visual Arts and Friends of the Hawkesbury Art Collection. She tutored painting at Sherbrooke Art Society and also ran own classes at Burwood. In 1982, Judy moved to Sydney and now tutors painting at the Hawkesbury Community Arts Workshop situated in the grounds of the University of Western Sydney, Hawkesbury.
Judy has won over 60 major awards in all mediums and tutors workshops in oil, water colour and pastel. In 1990, she won the Camberwell Rotary Travel Grant enabling her to travel extensively throughout Europe and Turkey to study and paint.
Judy has had several solo exhibitions and several mixed exhibitions and is represented in collections throughout Australian, Italy, England, Switzerland, Hong Kong, France, Germany, Holland, Japan and New Zealand as well as the Swan Hill Regional gallery and many councils’ permanent collections and corporate business houses.
She has appeared in a number of publications including 3rd Edition of Australian Artist Today, Who’s Who of Australian Visual Artists, Max Germaines Artists and Galleries 1997 CD Rom, Australian Artists Magazine, Jan. 1996, May 1999, Aug. 2001, and the Baulkham Hills Shire Show Case 2002.
